Borrow Pond Clean-up
Audubon Arkansas has been working with Arkansas Game and Fish and the Arkansas Highways Department to provide access to a borrow pond under the I-440, I-530, I-30 interchange near downtown Little Rock. This road should be under construction soon. Audubon and our partners will also complete several habitat improvement projects in and around Little Rock’s newest fishing hot spot. Before this area opens to the general public, Audubon Arkansas will host a clean-up of the site to remove items that have been dumped there in the past including: old electronics, tires, bottles, cups, and cans.

Tree Planting with Tree Streets
Winter 2008: For the second year in a row, Audubon Arkansas will be partnering with Tree Streets to plant trees along streets in Little Rock. Tree Streets has been doing this for over 10 years now and has planted over 600 trees which will help improve local water quality, provide valuable wildlife habitat, and help lower energy costs for nearby homeowners.

Storm Drain Marking
This fall, winter, and spring, Sustainable Alternatives and Audubon Arkansas will be placing educational storm drain markers around Little Rock. We are seeking to have them placed in every neighborhood in the city and in places with high foot traffic. Volunteers are always welcome!
